With 40 podium finishes in his career, Massa was the first athlete to join the Richard Mille family. As a long-time test driver for Richard Mille watches, he played a crucial role in the brand’s remarkable advancements in watchmaking. These achievements include the creation of a carbon nanofiber baseplate, initially tested in the RM 006 FM and later used in other models, as well as the development of new materials like the Alusic cases in the RM 009 FM. This deep collaboration and friendship are celebrated with this 100-piece limited edition watch.

The RM11 ‘10th Anniversary’ features a sapphire crystal dial inspired by Massa’s racing colors. The flanges, transfers, push-pieces, and crowns are adorned in blue and yellow, while Felipe’s logo is subtly placed at 1 o’clock.

On the RM 011 Felipe Massa 10th Anniversary, the number 19, Massa’s race number, is cleverly reimagined to suggest a 12 on the 0.4 mm thick sapphire dial. The watch includes a flyback chronograph, a 60-minute countdown timer, and an annual calendar, resulting in a rather intricate dial. The layout features a running seconds indicator at 3 o’clock, a monocounter 12-hour chrono register at 6 o’clock with hour and minute indicators, a 60-minute countdown timer at 9 o’clock, a double date window at 12 o’clock using a double sapphire disc system located at 10 and 2 o’clock, and a numeric month indicator between 4 and 5 o’clock.

The watch features an NTPT Carbon case with a titanium middle case. NTPT, unique to Richard Mille, offers exceptional resistance and a distinct look. Launched in 2013, NTPT carbon has become a key material for Richard Mille, known for its lightness and durability, also used in Formula 1 car chassis. The watch weighs only around 103 grams.

It includes titanium pushers for the flyback chronograph and an NTPT crown with a blue alcryn o-ring. NTPT carbon, composed of multiple layers of parallel filaments impregnated with resin, creates a distinctive visual effect. These layers are woven on a special machine, heated to 120°C at 6 bars of pressure, then processed at Richard Mille’s Proart case factory. The watch comes with a ventilated black rubber strap and a titanium double folding clasp.

The RM11 Felipe Massa ’10th Anniversary’ is powered by the calibre RMAC1, an automatic winding movement featuring the brand’s first flyback chronograph. Made from grade 5 titanium and hand-finished, it includes an annual calendar, a 60-minute flyback chronograph, and a countdown function. The movement, visible through the display case back, showcases Felipe Massa’s signature on the sapphire crystal. This 38-jewel movement offers a 50-hour power reserve.
